Media intro
Looking back at my preliminary task and my final production I have improved greatly, fortunately i have learned many of things along the way.
At first I had used publisher to create my school publication, this software is not advanced as Photoshop as i have learned . i found this out because publisher lacked the tools that allow you to change and manipulate a photo, it only has the basics such as crop, rotation and enlargement .
But Photoshop has a larger variety for me, (it had a paint brush. allowed me to make the colors darker or lighter, i could even change the color to something completely different!) LO3
because of this you can see the big difference in my work.
Furthermore not only has the editing improved but the text it self looks more appealing. I feel I have learned what style of fonts looks better with each other not only that but i had a more to choose in Photoshop.
My school publication ether had one font style or two that seemed alike, this made my publication look boring and uninteresting.
However if you look at my music magazine cover there is more contrast with the text.
Thirdly another very important thing I noticed is that I was not consistent on the scaling of my school publication, you can see this because some of the borders around the text vairy from being thin to thick. The pictures were resized differently too, You can see in my final production i have corrected this mistake.
Lastly the largest improvement for me, is the overall style. My preliminary task lacked something to brake it out of the conventional boring school publication,
I stuck with gender neutral colours and block text style. This made my school publication fall short, it may have ticked boxes but it lacked creativity. My music magazine on the other hand smashed out of the stereotype, instead of mostly having darker colours I used hot pink and bright yellow.
These colors are not conventional for the typical jazz/blue magazine. This made it unique and standout. Instead of using the conventional model e.g older, African American, male. I used a model that was mix race, younger and a female, something that could appeal to the modern jazz listener. my school publications did not do this, it stayed with its conventional model (younger children )
